  • Selected as a participant in the Young Professional Group Study Exchange to spend one month visiting cultural and educational institutions in Paris, France.  Sponsored by Rotary International (2004)

  • Co-published “Prepared to Teach Online? Perspectives of Faculty in the UNC System” in the Online Journal of Distance Learning Administration (Fall 2004 Vol. 7 number 3)

  • Collaborated with Developmental Studies/Academic Support Unit to provide Program Assessment Report to senior administration at Carteret Community College (2003)

  • Initiated and implemented new curriculum for the Internet Technologies program at Carteret Community College (2003)

Work with faculty developers to design and build courses for online delivery. Participate in faculty development and training.

Teaching Assistant Professor
East Carolina University Greenville, NC 27858 (2007-Present)
Designed and built master section of EDTC 4001 - Teaching with Technology. This is a required course for elementary education majors and focuses on the integration of technology into daily lesson plans. Students are also taught methods for using technology for classroom administrion. Between 10 and 15 sections of this course are offered each semester. I also teach three sections per semester online from Savannah.

Curriculum Area Coordinator, Computer Information Technology and Web Technologies
Carteret Community College Morehead City, NC 28512 (2003-Present)
Manage all aspects of curriculum and instruction for this two associate degree programs.  Prepare and maintain budgets.  Set goals and objectives.  Supervise full-time and adjunct instructors.  Collaborate with other programs and community in course offerings and schedules.  Also teach courses in web design, multimedia, graphics, programming and online databases.  The majority of our classes are taught online.

Worked for the college at a local high school as part of our dual-enrollment program; I taught courses in programming, multimedia and computer applications for which students earned both high school and college credit.

Instructional Designer

As part of my internship for the master’s program, I redesigned the CIS 110- Introduction to Computers course.  This is a four-year transfer course which runs over 20 sections per semester at this institution.
